The Somerset Chamber of Commerce are holding a series of business breakfasts this year which are ideal opportunities for networking and making contacts. The next one is on July 18th with tickets available from Eventbrite at £12.50 for the event at the YMCA in Bridgwater. The speaker will be Debbie Morris of Concilium HR with a talk on how to deal with problem employees. On August 15th it is the turn of Vic Williams of The Audacious Company to speak with a talk on social media, while David Pardy of Leadership and Management Development will explain how to lead in business.

Another event that might catch the eye is in Taunton which aims to teach business people to make presentations using stand-up comedy techniques. It is a training workshop called Stand Up Comedy and Humour in Business Presentations held on July 29th. Would you like some hints and tips on introducing humour into your business presentations? Another not to be missed event is the Somerset Business Awards in October with nominations opening in June. The Somerset Business Awards is the Chamber’s annual black-tie awards ceremony recognising companies around Somerset for exceptional accomplishments across a range of fields, such as technology and innovation, service excellence and skills for growth.

Now in its 14^th year with around 400 guests, the Somerset Business Awards offers a unique opportunity to network with a range of business people across a mix of sectors – providing a great setting to gain new contacts, boost exposure and celebrate local talent. 

The awards ceremony will take place on 19th October at Wellsprings Leisure Centre Taunton, join them to celebrate the successes within Somerset while entertaining your clients or colleagues. Includes an arrival drink, four-course meal with wine, tea and coffee.
