Harry Cobden wins his 100th race in the Stables Business Park Novices’ Hurdle at Taunton

One of the UK’s leading jockeys Harry Cobden notched up his 100th win back in March in the Stables Business Park Novices’ Hurdle at Taunton.

Riding Time To Tinker trained by Angela Tincknell of Somerset, Harry prevailed in a close finish ahead of Grandads Cottage.

Axbridge Chamber of Commerce member Tom Dalley of Stables Business Park in Rooksbridge near Brent Knoll said he was delighted for Harry Cobden.

He said: “I am so impressed with Harry who after a lot of travelling from one end of the country to the other put in such a strong performance. At Taunton in our sponsored race he beat Paul Nicholls’ Grandads Cottage winning by a short head at the post. It was a superb effort.”

The win put Harry on 100 winners alongside Harry Skelton, with reigning champion Brian Hughes on 109. Since then Harry suffered a fall at Aintree in April which left him with a fractured cheekbone forcing him out of racing for the rest of the season.

Born in 1998 Harry is from Somerset where he lives on his farm having ridden in his first professional race in 2014 for Anthony Honeyball before later switching to Paul Nicholls’ yard. He’s no stranger to accidents having fractured his neck in a fall at Market Rasan in 2018.

Tom Dalley said: “We wish Harry a full recovery and hope he’ll be back in the saddle for the next National Hunt season.”
